About Us

Undergraduate Women in Law

is a student-led organization at the University of Missouri dedicated to empowering undergraduate women who are interested in pursuing law school and careers in the legal field. Founded in March 2025, UWL provides members with meaningful access to mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities with legal professionals, law students, and peers who share similar goals.

Through workshops, panels, and hands-on programming, UWL supports members at every stage of the pre-law journey—from navigating law school admissions and entrance exams to exploring diverse career paths within the legal profession. Above all, UWL is committed to fostering an inclusive, collaborative community that builds confidence, leadership, and long-term success for women in law.

Prep That Pays Off

UWL offers LSAT prep sessions and resume workshops designed to support members at every stage of the pre-law journey. From test-taking strategies to crafting competitive resumes and applications, these resources help members feel prepared, informed, and confident as they work toward law school and legal opportunities.

Real Talk, Real Connections

Through guest speakers, panels, and networking events, UWL connects members with attorneys, law students, and legal professionals from a wide range of legal fields. These conversations provide honest insight into legal careers, day-to-day experiences, and the paths it takes to succeed in law.

Built Together

At the heart of UWL is a supportive, inclusive community focused on confidence-building and leadership development. Members are encouraged to ask questions, share experiences, and grow alongside peers who share similar goals, creating a space where women in law can uplift and empower one another.

From Here to Law School

UWL provides guidance and resources to help members navigate the law school admissions process with clarity and confidence. From understanding timelines and application components to exploring personal statements, letters of recommendation, and school selection, this support helps make an often overwhelming process more approachable and transparent.

Our executive board is trained in and familiar with several leading LSAT study platforms, allowing us to provide informed guidance and share strategies using resources such as:
